Did you get kapha?

Mama, Did you get Kapha?

Okay, so what does this all mean?

If you got Kapha as your main Dosha or part of your constitution, your qualities are smooth, soft, cold, stable, moist, heavy, and sticky. If you are primarily Kapha you will want to avoid high-calorie foods and stick to light and dry foods.

Here are a few general guidelines you can follow:

  • Consume light, dry and warm foods

  • Avoid rich desserts

  • Avoid cold, heavy food and drinks

  • Stick to pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes

  • Eat salty foods sparingly

  • Avoid oily, fried foods

  • Spice it up with ginger, black pepper, mustard seeds

If you are primarily Kapha, you are very easygoing and laid back. You may have a natural tendency to not move much and have a slow metabolism, which can manifest in slow digestion and ideas.

In order to keep this Dosha balanced, you can incorporate nutritious meals that will aid your digestion and provide you with the energy you need.

Here are a few ideas you can try!

Balance your Dosha with nourishing and light foods.

Give this a try and see how you feel in the evening. Keep a journal where you write down what you eat throughout the day and notice any differences in your body. The more you implement nourishing foods that decrease your Kapha the better you will feel.

Stay tuned for the next blog, I’ll be diving into some yoga asanas you can add to your daily practice to balance your Dosha!

Namaste!
Andrea
